Subway Art: A Virtual Tour, hosted by Sylvia Laudien-Meo
Via Zoom for members. See link below to join.

Sylvia Laudien-Meo will be leading us on a virtual tour of some MTA Arts & Design commissions in the New York City subway system. These installations beautify our subway stations with cutting-edge artworks by internationally acclaimed artists who partner with mosaic, glass and metal artisans to translate their work into durable public art.

Sylvia is a Professor of Art History at Fairleigh Dickinson University, an art historian, and freelance tour guide. Her education includes degrees in Art History from Gutenberg University in her home town of Mainz, Germany, a degree in Tourism from the Ecole Superieure de Tourisme in France, and a Masters  from Columbia University in NY. She has worked at MoMA, the Guggenheim, and The Jewish Museum and gives private art and urban history tours. Due to her comprehensive knowledge of art history, and her passion for New York City and its art and culture, Sylvia’s tours are a delight not to be missed.
