Via Zoom for members. See link below to join.

Susan Rostow is a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary artist. She works in corporate printmaking with mixed media wall reliefs, sculptural books, sculpture, and stop motion animation. Themes such as the effects of time and how humans impact the environment are addressed with a bit of humor and gloom.

Her recent work has been influenced by her research residencies at the New York Academy of Medicine and the New York Historical Society, a collaborative project with Central Booking, NYC. She has earned a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship and a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant. Her work has been shown throughout the United States, Europe, Peru, Korea, and Japan and is in public and private collections including the Allan Chasanoff Bookwork Collection, Yale University Art Gallery and the Library of Congress, National Print Archives.

In addition to Rostow’s active career as an artist, she is an innovative inventor of printmaking methods and materials. She is the creator of Akua soy-based printmaking inks and has made a major contribution to the practice of safer printmaking all over the world by developing and teaching printmaking methods without the use of hazardous materials. In 2012 Speedball Art Products acquired the Akua brand. You can see her work at https://susanrostow.com.
